This 3-day safari takes you through the most captivating wildlife destinations in the northern circuit. You will visit Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara National Park. Enjoy top-notch wildlife destinations in Tanzania.
Day 1: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will to Tarangire. Tarangire National Park is approximately a two-hour drive from Arusha. It is the only park in northern Tanzania with the highest density of elephants.
During the dry season, Tarangire turns into a great destination since thousands of wild animals gather around the life-giving Tarangire River. You might be able to spot wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, lions, leopards, and primate species like colobus monkeys.
At Tarangire, we spend the whole day exploring the vast plains and lush forests. There are a lot of other activities to engage in while in Tarangire National Park, including bird watching, walking safaris, and many more.
Tarangire’s vegetation is dotted with old baobab trees (trees of life). These beautiful flora species are linked with local beliefs. Some locals go to some of the oldest baobabs to cast their spells.
Tarangire is a splendid place to watch over 550 bird species. You may encounter it in the riverine forests, woodlands, and open grasslands.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast in Tarangire, we start the journey to Ngorongoro Crater. The distance from Tarangire to Ngorongoro is 150 km and it takes 2 hours.
Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking feature in the Ngorongoro Conservation. There is a great concentration of wild animals in this crater. The Big Five animals can also be seen there. Upon arrival, we go for a full-day game drive. Picnic lunch on the way and continue the expedition. Commonly encountered animals include buffalos, lions, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, leopards, and monkeys are commonly encountered here.
After 4 hours of driving on the crater floor, we will ascend the crater rim and catch the way back to the lodge in Karatu.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, we drive from Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara National Park. We will drive through Karatu. Lake Manyara lies at the base of the Great Rift Valley. It is 330 square kilometers big, with two-thirds of its area being covered by a soda lake.
It is famously known for its tree-climbing lions and other wild animals. Common animals include buffaloes, elephants, hippos, giraffes, antelopes, and many more. Over 450 bird species can be spotted in Lake Manyara National Park.
In the late afternoon, we embark on a walking safari. We can also walk to the hot springs. The waters from this spring can boil an egg. You can also walk on the treetop canopy walkway. Canoeing is another thrilling activity you can do while in Lake Manyara.
