Bob Geor Adventures & Safaris organizes the best wildlife safaris in Tanzania. On this safari program, we take you through four spectacular destinations. You will explore Arusha National Park, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Lake Eyasi. Enjoy wildlife expeditions followed by a cultural exploration on the shore of Lake Eyasi. Here are the details of the program.
Day 1: Arusha National Park
Your driver will arrive at around 7:30 a.m. After a buffet dinner, we drive for 30 minutes to Arusha National Park. After registering at the park’s office, we start our expedition. We will embark on many activities, including game drives, canoeing at Small Momella, and walking safaris.
Arusha National Park despite being small, is home to a significant number of giraffes, colobus monkeys, elephants, zebras, and buffalos. The Ngurdoto Crater is a one-of-a-kind crater in Tanzania. Its dense wildlife population is spectacular when viewed from the rim.
We then embark on a guided nature walk on the slopes of Mount Meru. Common encounters include buffalos, antelopes, monkeys, and colorful birds. We will finish the day with a canoe trip on Lake Momella. In the late evening, we return to your accommodation in Arusha.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, pick up from your lodge in Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park. The journey will take you 2 hours. After getting things clear with the park officials, we start the drive in Tarangire.
Tarangire is a stunning wildlife destination known for its largest elephant population. Giant baobab trees are stud the evergreen vegetation of Tarangire. The majestic Tarangire River is a hub for game viewing in the dry season. Thousands of wild animals gather around it, as it remains the only water source.
As we drive, watch out for elephants, buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, lions, antelopes, and others. You will also see beautiful birds like an ashy starling, hornbill, crowned crane, secretary bird, and more. We then return to the camp/lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
You will have an early breakfast at the lodge. Thereafter, you will start the journey to Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch.
Lake Manyara is home to a diverse wildlife. They include the rare tree-climbing lions, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, and waterbucks. The shore of this soda lake is inhabited by pink flamingos, which bring a pink hue from a distance.
After a full-day game drive, we drive to the camp where we enjoy sundowner, campfire, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 4: Lake Manyara to Lake Eyasi
Today, we embark on another expedition to Lake Eyasi. After breakfast, we begin a 2-hour drive through 133 kilometers. On the way, you will enjoy the views of the Rift Valley escarpment and horizon.
At Lake Eyasi, we explore wildlife and vibrant cultures. Common animals include giraffes, zebras, monkeys, leopards, and hippos. Stunning birds like greater flamingos and white pelicans are also abundant.
After lunch, we drive the Hadzabe bushmen. They are the last remaining hunter-gatherer communities in the world. You can join Hadza men on their hunting or Hadzabe women as they gather roots, fruits, and wood. In the late evening, we drive from Lake Eyasi to Arusha. You will be dropped off at your accommodation. Our guide will pick you up at the lodge and transfer you to the airport to catch up on your scheduled flight.
