The Northern Circuit is a one-of-a-kind safari circuit in Tanzania. It is home to world-class destinations like the Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and more. These wildlife sanctuaries boast the most diverse wildlife on earth.

This tour takes you through three popular destinations: Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro. You will spend 5 days viewing the wildlife, landscapes, and lake vistas. The 5-day journey will then start and end in Arusha.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire

Today, you will wake up early in the morning. After breakfast, we drive to Tarangire for a full-day game drive. You can pack the lunch or arrive at lunchtime at the camp. Your guide will help you sort things out with the park officials. Afterward, we drive through the woodlands to look for big games. We also observe the old baobab trees.

Tarangire National Park is an off-the-beaten-path destination in northern Tanzania. Its great spectacle is the largest elephant population in Tanzania. Tarangire covers 4,190 square kilometers and a large area consists of woodlands, riverine forests, and grasslands.

Big games like buffalos, lions, wildebeests, zebras, Maasai giraffes, impalas, elands, and hyenas are common. Leopards, cheetahs, and African wild dogs are occasional. Wildlife viewing takes another step in Tarangire during the dry season. Huge herds of animals migrate to the Tarangire River, the lifeline of this park.

In the late evening, we return to the camp/lodge in Tarangire for a mouthwatering dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti

Today, we will transfer to the Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, we drive through the highlands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From the highlands, we descend into the Serengeti through the Naabi Hills gate. After clearing up things with the park officials, we head to the camp for lunch.

Later on, we explore the Seronera Valley on an afternoon game drive. There is a great chance to spot wildebeest, antelope, buffalo, and many more. We will then return to the lodge for a sundowner and a delicious dinner before spending the night.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

We spend a full day exploring the vast plains of the Serengeti. We begin our day with a morning game drive to catch the dawn. Elusive predators like leopards usually hunt during this time. Therefore, there is a great chance of witnessing a hunt. The morning drive also offers stunning views of the plains, wild animals, and birds.

After breakfast, we set off for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. We drive to the Lobo Area. The migratory animals might be in this area (between June and August). There are resident animals like elephants, buffalos, giraffes, and others. We will return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

After breakfast, we have a morning wildlife drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.  On the way, we spot animals like antelopes, buffalos, elephants, giraffes, and more. We enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated picnic site. We then continue to explore the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for the rest of the day. We then return to the camp/lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

Today, we descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a world’s spectacle. This magnificent caldera hosts over 30,000 animals on its crater floor. We may encounter the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and black rhino.

In the late afternoon, ascend the crater rim and start driving to Arusha. We will drop you off at your accommodation. Enjoy your last night in Arusha and leave the next day.
